Islamabad: (NPK) So far this financial year, revenue of Rs 579 billion has been collected while the number of filers has increased by more than 7 million people.
A meeting on the performance and reforms of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, gave a detailed briefing on the performance and reforms of the chairman FBR Shabar Zaidi.
Chairman FBR Shabar Zaidi briefed that revenue of Rs 579 billion has been collected so far this financial year while the number of filers has increased by more than 7 million people.
The Prime Minister was told at the briefing that in 2017 the number was 1514817 which has now reached 2561099 while the domestic tax collection increased by 28%.
The Prime Minister was also briefed on measures to restore public confidence in the FBR and informed that all the steps including registration, tax certificate, tax return and audit are being computerized. The need to connect FBR personnel personally with the computerized system will be eliminated.
