National Coordination Committee meeting on COVID-19 chaired by PM Imran Khan was held today in Islamabad. Federal ministers, Provincial Chief Ministers and Senior Civil and Military Officials attended the NCC meeting. The prevalent situation of Coronavirus in the country, relief measures and future strategy were discussed in this meeting and steps to be taken were decided.

PM Imran Khan announces the decisions made during the NCC meeting on media channels with his team. Partial lockdown was announced to be extended for next two weeks all across the country. PM said that we have made hard decision of imposing lockdown in country which were very well implemented due to cooperation of people and due to that we were able to somehow slowdown the outbreak of Corona Virus. However, we know about the difficulties that poor people are facing in these hard conditions due to unemployment. For that PM announced that from today the construction industry will be opened in phases so that labors can get some relief. He further added that an package will be announced for construction industry so that it may flourish and investors should come forward.
Imran Khan said that agriculture sector will also remain open due to upcoming harvesting of wheat and it is also the most important factor of our economy. He said ordinances will be introduced soon to discourage practices of hoarding and smuggling.

During his talk on media PM said that we are fighting on two fronts; one is containing spread of Coronavirus and second to overcome unemployment. Ehsaas Program playing a key role in provision of cash relief to daily wagers and poor people in this difficult time.
