
A high level meeting was held today in Islamabad, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided the meeting. Imran Khan said that government has allowed limited activities of some businesses all across the country so that labors can get the relief in this alarming situation of Coronavirus outbreak.
PM said that all the paramedical staff including doctors and nurses deserves all the appreciation as they are helping and treating the corona hit patients across the country. Imran Khan urged the citizens to show their responsibility to stay at home, keep social distancing and avoid unnecessary outings. He directed the concerned authorities to launch special awareness campaigns to spread the awareness among the people about COVID-19 outbreak throughout the country. At this occasion, PM also urged the media to play its role in spreading the authentic information and avoid spread of negative propaganda by some elements in this difficult time in the country.
During the meeting, it was decided to establish more Quarantine centers on the pattern of 250-bed field hospital and Quarantine Center established by Frontier Works Organization in Rawalpindi. The Chairman NDMA briefed about provision of protective equipment to various hospitals across the country. He told that third consignment of protective equipment will be delivered to provinces tomorrow.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Dr Zafar Mirza and Prime Minister's Focal Person on Coronavirus Faisal Sultan briefed the meeting about prevailing Coronavirus situation in the country. Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar informed the participants about the decisions taken at today's meeting at the National Command and Control Authority Centre in Islamabad today.
